La Cumbre Plaza Reimaging and Remodel

The goal of the La Cumbre Plaza shopping Center reimaging was to transform a 1960’s shopping center with a 1980 post modern remodel into a project that would become more contextual to the City of Santa Barbara and maintain its neighborhood scale and qualities. Glen Morris designed a remodel scheme that focused on enlivening the axial courts with remodeled fountains and paving. The main walkways were enhanced with new rhythmic planting areas by removing concrete paving and setting up a rhythm of seating areas and decorative pots. The lighting was upgraded and existing lamp post were refurbished and new tops installed. Glen Morris developed a new branding identity for the center which also included new signage and a new color scheme.
